Samsung Galaxy S III Now Available at T-Mobile; AT&T Preorders Delayed
Short supply and high demand are causing another carrier to delay shipping the Samsung Galaxy S III to preorder customers. Sprint acknowledged delivery delays for the device yesterday.
As AT&T said today in a statement to AllThingsD, “Manufacturer supply constraints of the 4G LTE Samsung Galaxy S III have caused a delay to expected preorder shipments. Customers who were previously quoted a delivery date of June 21st should now expect their device to arrive no later than Monday, June 25th.”
The carrier said that affected customers will receive both an email and text message notifying them of the delay. For those who are still considering preordering one, AT&T expects it will take 10 business days to fill the order.
One carrier that isn’t having any issues with stock is T-Mobile. The Galaxy S III is available now, online and in stores, but it’ll cost you. The 16 gigabyte version costs $279.99 with a two-year contract, and the 32GB model costs $329.99.
Meanwhile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular are charging $199.99 for the 16GB Galaxy S III, and the 32GB goes for $249.99 on contract at Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular. AT&T will not carry the 32GB model.
The Galaxy S III is Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone. It features a 4.8-inch HD touchscreen, an eight-megapixel camera, voice-recognition technology and more.
