Galaxy Nexus Back on Sale at Google Play

Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus has returned to the virtual shelves of the Google Play store almost as quickly as it was pulled from them.

On Friday, the injunction barring sales of the Galaxy Nexus was suspended pending a response from Apple, which claims the device infringes four patents. And now, not 24 hours later, it’s back on sale.

The Galaxy Nexus is strategically important to Google as its lead device for the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android, so it’s critical to the company to get the device back on the market. It won’t ship for another two to three weeks, but when it does, it will presumably be running a version of Android that avoids infringing the Apple patents that led to the injunction.

The best and brightest are usually put to work on optimisation. … They will then go forward and solve the inefficiencies, and that’s where 99% of most energy is spent on. But, at some point you run out of room to improve things, and that’s when you have to step aside and ask, can we make it different?
