Diller Wins A Broadcast-TV Clash

A federal judge denied TV broadcasters’ request for a preliminary injunction to shut down online video start-up Aereo, dealing a major blow to broadcasters.

U.S. District Court Judge Alison Nathan denied the request for a preliminary junction despite finding that Aereo threatens the broadcasters “with irreparable harm,” including by luring away cable subscribers, that she said was “substantial but not overwhelming.”
