Facial Recognition Start-Up Cortica Raises $7 Million
Israeli-based facial-recognition technology start-up Cortica announced on Thursday a $7 million round of venture funding, backed by Hong Kong billionaire Li Ka-Shing’s Horizons Ventures and former Endemol Group CEO Ynon Kreiz. Cortica had previously raised $4 million in angel funding. The company’s commercial team will move from Israel to Manhattan, and will also open an office in Silicon Valley.
