Samsung Pencils in August 29 Berlin Event, but Not Signing Off on Note Debut

A Samsung representative on Thursday confirmed the company plans one of its “unpacked” product events for Aug. 29 in Berlin, but said the company is not confirming reports that a new pen-powered Note product will be announced.

“We can confirm the unpacked event will take place on August 29th, but we cannot disclose information on what will be unveiled,” a Samsung representative told AllThingsD. Reuters earlier quoted Samsung as saying that a Galaxy Note product would be announced at the event.

In addition to a potential successor to the company’s five-inch Galaxy Note “phablet,” the market is still waiting for the release of the pen-equipped Galaxy Note 10.1, which Samsung first announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
