New Caller ID App From WhitePages Shows Friends’ Recent Status Updates When They Call

WhitePages has launched Current Caller ID, a new app that integrates with social networks to show a caller’s recent status updates on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. It also displays an infographic on the caller’s relationship to the recipient, to help the user decide if he or she wants to answer. The free app, which is currently only available for Google Android mobile devices, is an update to the company’s earlier Caller ID apps. WhitePages says it has identified more than 700 million calls since it first launched mobile Caller ID in 2008, and has contact information for over 200 million U.S. adults in its database.
