Jobs’s House Burglarized; Suspect Held in Offline Storage
The Palo Alto home of Apple’s late co-founder Steve Jobs has been burglarized. The San Jose Mercury News reports that computers and personal items worth some $60,000 were stolen from Jobs’s home in mid-July. The alleged thief, who may have been unaware of the significance of the home he was emptying out, has been arrested and charged with residential burglary and selling stolen property, pending an Aug. 20 court hearing. “It appears to be a random deal,” Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Tom Flattery told CNN. “We don’t have anything to show that [Jobs’s family] was targeted.”
