Apple: We Sold Two Million iPhone 5s in 24 Hours

Preorders for the iPhone 5 exceeded two million units in the device’s first 24 hours of availability, more than doubling a record set by the iPhone 4S, Apple said on Monday. With demand exceeding initial supply, customers who place their orders now won’t receive an iPhone 5 until sometime in October. Earlier this morning, AT&T, too, said that the Phone 5 is the fastest-selling iPhone it has ever offered.
