Electronic Arts Acquires Small Swedish Gaming Company

Electronic Arts has acquired ESN, a 20-person team from Sweden that develops cloud-gaming technology. The technology is used in Battlefield 3 to provide social features, such as chat and leaderboards. ESN made the announcement in a blog post, and an EA spokesperson confirmed the purchase took place in July. TechCrunch first reported the acquisition this morning. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
