RadioShack Corp. said Chief Executive James F. Gooch will step down after little more than a year on the job, indicating a new direction for the electronics retailer as it grapples with weak sales.
“In its discretion, the board decided the timing was right,” a spokesman said. “Moving forward with the decision sooner rather than later will help establish the right leadership to address the company’s challenges and capitalize on its opportunities.”
