Pixowl Raises $1.2 Million to Expand the “Grub” Mobile Game Franchise

San Francisco-based Pixowl said it will use the $1.2 million it has raised to continue developing mobile games that blend comic book art with stories. In particular, it’s focusing on developing the “Grub” franchise, after Doodle Grub was played by eight million people worldwide. Investors include 500 Startups, Kima Ventures, Pymar Venture, Art.com founder Joshua Chodniewicz, as well as other angels.
