HouseTrip.com Locks in $40 Million for European Rentals Site

London-based HouseTrip.com, which is focused on the European vacation-home market, has raised $40 million in funding. The round was led by Accel Partners, with existing investors Balderton Capital and Index Ventures also participating. The company will use the cash to expand into more territories, and to develop new products and services for both travelers and hosts. Total investment to date is $60 million.
