UrbanSitter’s Social Babysitting Marketplace Raises $6M

UrbanSitter, the site that makes use of friend networks to help match up parents and babysitters, has raised $6 million in Series A funding from Canaan Partners and returning investors. The service is still quite small; it has 22,000 members. But it says 80 percent of job requests are already filled, with an average sitter response time of 3.5 hours.
