Google Schedules October 29 Android Event in New York

Google sent out invitations late on Wednesday for an Android event to be held on Oct. 29 in New York.

“The playground is open,” reads the invitation to the event, which will take place at 10 am ET.

Android chief Andy Rubin is slated to speak later that day at our D: Dive Into Mobile conference.

The company has been reportedly prepping a number of Nexus devices, including tablets and phones from various Android device makers such as Sony, Samsung and LG.

(To see Rubin, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop and top executives from Facebook, Verizon Wireless, WhatsApp and more, be sure to register soon.)
