Leap Wireless International Inc. swung to a third-quarter profit as the pay-as-you-go mobile operator recorded a large gain resulting from an exchange of spectrum licenses.
Leap has reported growing revenue in recent quarters but, until the latest results, the company hadn’t posted a quarterly profit since 2007, after its lower-income customer base was hit particularly hard by the recession.
