Another Enterprise Company Gets Social as Workshare Acquires IdeaPlane

Cloud-based work collaboration company Workshare announced Wednesday that it had acquired IdeaPlane, an enterprise social networking company. The plan is to integrate IdeaPlane’s social products into the Workshare platform. It’s in line with a string of recent enterprise-level social acquisitions over the past year, including Salesforce’s purchase of Buddy Media and Microsoft’s acquisition of Yammer. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
