Discovery App Spindle Comes to the Big Apple

Spindle, the mobile discovery app that straddles the line between search and social, launched in New York City on Thursday morning, expanding from its strictly San Francisco- and Boston-based coverage. The app pulls in data from your disparate social networks — namely Facebook and Twitter — and surfaces relevant status updates from local businesses to suggest points of interest. The company was formed by a handful of ex-Microsoft engineers, and is based in Massachusetts.
