Nokia Siemens Unloads Optical Biz

Nokia Siemens Networks on Monday announced the next step of its transformation into a “mobile broadband specialist”: The unloading of its optical networks business. The joint venture of Nokia and Siemens AG said Marlin Equity Partners, a Los Angeles-based private equity outfit, had agreed to acquire its optical biz for an undisclosed sum. Marlin says it plans to turn it into an independent optical networking company.
