When Amazon launched the 8.9-inch version of its Kindle Fire HD tablet, it predicted supply problems. Maybe those have gone away: Amazon is knocking $50 off the $299 device’s entry price via a one-day sale today. Amazon’s tablet is supposed to compete, feature-wise, with Apple’s iPad mini and Google’s Nexus 10.
