Facebook Deep-Sixes User Voting
Facebook’s site-wide user governance vote came to a close on Monday, and with it the ability for users to vote on any major changes to the social network. A third of Facebook’s billion-plus user base was required to weigh in to keep user voting in play, but as I noted earlier, that was unlikely to happen. Just over 650,000 users voted, less than one half of one percent of Facebook’s total user base. Facebook will also migrate Instagram’s servers over to Facebook’s own infrastructure as a result of the vote.
