Say Cheese! Twitter Debuts In-App Photo Filters.
Well, that didn’t take long.
Just two days after I reported Twitter hoped to release its photo filters in time for the holidays, the company did just that.
The company updated its app on Monday, now allowing users to tweak and filter photos from inside the Twitter application.
Twitter partnered with Aviary, a firm that produces image-editing APIs, for the release.
Users can choose from eight different filters inside the app, as well as crop, tweak and enhance different aspects of the picture. You’ll also be able to see photos inside the Twitter stream.
That’s a timely addition, considering Instagram just recently dropped Twitter Cards support, which takes away the ability to display Instagram photos in the Twitter stream.
Another funny timing coincidence — Instagram happened to release an update to its own app just hours before Twitter pushed out its app update, debuting a new filter for the massively popular photo-sharing service.
Or perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence.
