FreshDirect Suffers Web Outage

Online grocer FreshDirect’s Web site was unavailable Wednesday, an embarrassing outage over the renewal of its domain name that frustrated customers.

Visitors to the company’s Web site on Tuesday and Wednesday were greeted with a generic Web page for domain registrar Network Solutions, saying the address needed to be renewed. FreshDirect directed customers to call its service line, and a representative said the company hoped to get its Web site back up later Wednesday.
