Alibaba Founder Jack Ma to Leave CEO Post

Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. said founder Jack Ma will step down as chief executive on May 10, but will continue to act as executive chairman.

In a statement Tuesday on its website, the company said Mr. Ma will set “strategic direction” after his resignation as chief executive. The statement also said a successor, to be named May 10, will likely come from within the company.
