Cisco Acquires Czech Republic’s Cognitive Security

Cisco just announced in a corporate blog post that it intends to acquire privately held Cognitive Security. It’s a small company headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, that specializes in applying artificial intelligence to the field of network security. Financial details were not disclosed. Cognitive’s employees will join Cisco’s Security Technology Group, reporting to SVP Chris Young. The deal is expected to close in Cisco’s fiscal third quarter.
