Sprint Posts Wider Loss
Sprint Nextel Corp.’s fourth-quarter loss widened and customer losses continued amid the continuing shutdown of its older Nextel network, as the company aims to turn around its business to compete with larger wireless rivals.
In the quarter, Sprint lost 243,000 contract customers, which was more than the 229,000 decline expected by analysts, according to Canaccord Geniuty. Still, the Overland Park, Kan., carrier’s revenue and loss was better than expected by Wall Street.
