Best Buy Founder Schulze Considers Alternatives to Buyout Plan

Best Buy Co. founder Richard Schulze is weighing whether to scrap a plan to take over the struggling electronics chain and instead line up investors to take a minority stake in the company, people familiar with the matter said.

Mr. Schulze has been working since last summer to secure financing to take Best Buy private but hasn’t yet gotten enough support from banks to finance the deal, according to people familiar with those discussions.
