Apple Almost Called the iPhone iPad

If Apple and Cisco hadn’t amicably resolved their 2007 spat over the “iPhone” trademark, Cupertino’s iconic smartphone might have ended up with a very different name. Former Apple ad man Ken Segall says that prior to the iPhone’s debut, the company considered a few other names for the device. Among them: Mobi (a play on mobile), TelePod (get it?), TriPod (three devices in one!) and iPad.
