Google Hires Three Neural Networks Researchers

Google has hired University of Toronto computer science professor Geoffrey Hinton and two of his students, Alex Krizhevsky and Ilya Sutskever. The trio researches “deep learning” using neural networks and will join Google’s knowledge (formerly known as search) team and also maintain their university connections. The company has recently stepped up efforts to bring established thinkers and academics into its fold; another example is Ray Kurzweil.
