Yahoo in Talks to Buy Stake in Video Site Dailymotion

Yahoo Inc. is in talks to buy a controlling stake in France Telecom SA’s online-video site Dailymotion, according to people familiar with the talks, in what would be Yahoo Chief Executive Marissa Mayer’s first major acquisition since taking over the Internet pioneer last year.

Yahoo could buy as much as 75 percent of Dailymotion as part of an ownership structure that is under consideration, these people said. The site could be valued at around $300 million, one of these people said, and would help U.S.-based Yahoo to gain a bigger toehold in online video in parts of Europe and Asia.
