Ericsson Buys Microsoft’s Mediaroom Business
Swedish network equipment vendor Ericsson said Monday it has agreed to buy Microsoft Corp.’s Mediaroom business for an undisclosed sum in order to increase its share of the market for Internet-based television technology.
California-based Mediaroom, which employs around 400 people worldwide, provides a platform for video distribution deployed with the world’s largest Internet Protocol TV operators, Ericsson said.
