Startup Studio Science Hires Digital Veteran Jason Rapp
Science, the Los Angeles-based startup “studio,” has a big new slug of funding from Hearst. And now the company has someone to help it spend that money: Digital veteran Jason Rapp has come aboard as the company’s managing director.
Rapp, whose last position was president at how-to video maker Mahalo, is supposed to “find and develop new opportunities for the Science portfolio and offer strategic counsel to the firm.”
Science is best known for funding and launching e-commerce companies like Dollar Shave Club.
Rapp’s e-commerce experience includes a stint running Gifts.com for Barry Diller’s IAC conglomerate. Rapp also worked on M&A at IAC, and had a similar role at the New York Times.
