Social Startup Nexgate Raises $3.5 Million

Nexgate, a firm that helps enterprise companies securely track and protect their brands over social networks, raised $3.5 million in a Series A round of financing, the company announced on Tuesday. Sierra Ventures led the round, and the VC firm’s managing director Mark Fernandes will join Nexgate’s board of directors. Many of Nexgate’s products are designed to alert companies when their social accounts are being tampered with, and include better security features for social media managers.
