Apple Settles iPhone Water Damage Suit
Apple has agreed to pay $53 million to settle a class action lawsuit claiming it failed to honor warranties on iPhones and iPods. Turns out the Liquid Submersion Indicators built into those devices could be triggered by humidity as well as water damage, and some members of the class may have wrongly been denied repairs or replacements as a result. Wired reports that Apple has agreed to the settlement without admitting wrongdoing. It is expected to be approved in the coming weeks.
