Domo Nabs Another Omniture Alum as Chief Scientist
Domo is expected to announce shortly that it has hired former Omniture CTO Brett Error (picture from his Twitter account). His title will be chief scientist and chief strategy officer.
Error spent 14 years as CTO of Omniture, now a unit of Adobe, and led its product development. He was also responsible for integrating technology from Omniture’s various acquisitions.
It’s the second major hire by Domo of a former Omniture exec in recent memory. Last fall, Domo named Chris Harrington, Omniture’s former president, as its president.
James led Omniture from 1996 through its IPO and subsequent acquisition by Adobe in 2006. He then bolted that company in 2009. It wasn’t long before he was out raising money, bought a software company in his home state of Utah and turned it into Domo.
Domo has a lot of investors very excited and betting that James and Co. can do it again. In March, Domo raised a $60 million Series B round led by GGV Capital and including Greylock Partners, among others. That deal gave Domo an implied valuation of $310 million.
