ITC Throws Out Motorola Patent Complaint Against Apple
If Google’s $12.5 billion acquisition of Motorola Mobility was supposed to help defend the Android ecosystem against patent challenges, it hasn’t panned out very well. In a Monday ruling, the U.S. International Trade Commission threw out the last remaining patent asserted against Apple in Motorola’s October 2010 complaint, dealing Google yet another loss in the sprawling intellectual property battle between the two companies and thwarting its efforts to win an import ban on the iPhone 4.
