Who’s at D: HTC President Jason Mackenzie on the HTC One, the “Facebook Phone,” and Regaining Lost Ground (Video)

Weak sales of the “Facebook phone,” a components shortage and a reshuffling of executives — if you’ve read anything about HTC recently, it has likely been grim.

But the company has been able to sell around 5 million HTC One smartphones since the flagship phone’s launch last month, and according to Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales, the company wants to finish the year strong and go into “the next version of the HTC One.”

As for when the current HTC One is headed to Verizon? Mackenzie didn’t say but reiterated the company wants its flagship phone available as many places as possible. (And trust us, it is coming.)

Also, Mackenzie insists, the news about the “mass exodus has been way overblown. We’ve lost some key people; some were planned, some were not. But it’s not masses of people.”
