Google’s Sundar Pichai Is Cool With Samsung’s Android Dominance (Video)

Despite Google’s explosive growth in its Android mobile operating system, the company may have a problem. Among the many hardware manufacturing partners that run Android on their smartphones and tablets, only Samsung seems to be making significant money and gaining the most marketshare.

If you’re Google, there’s the potential to alienate your other hardware partners, not to mention the possibility of Samsung continuing to heavily modify the Android software over time.

Sundar Pichai, Google’s newly crowned chief of both Android and Chrome, isn’t worried about it. (Or he says he isn’t, at least.) He maintains that Google’s strength is still about the services that come with Android, and that other manufacturers aren’t doing as poorly as folks may think.
