Google to the U.S. Government: No, You Need to Pay Us More Taxes
Google on June 21 sued the U.S. Internal Revenue Service for an $83.5 million refund related to stock warrants it granted to AOL before Google went public, as Bloomberg reported. In response to a request for comment, a Google spokesperson said, “We filed a petition challenging an outstanding issue from our 2003/2004 tax assessment. This is a domestic issue related to stock warrants and we hope to have it resolved soon.”
