T-Mobile’s New “Jump” Ads Show SNL’s Bill Hader in Desperate Need of a New Phone

T-Mobile today announced Jump, the carrier’s plan that allows customers to upgrade to new phones twice a year, provided they pay an additional monthly fee tacked on to their T-Mobile bill.

Now, if a new smartphone catches your eye every six months, you can (theoretically) switch! It’s like speed-dating, for smartphones. Commitment, sch-mmitment.

But as T-Mobile’s new ads show, it’s not just to satisfy consumers with seemingly insatiable appetites for the newest phones. The 30-second spots, which feature former “Saturday Night Live” funnyman Bill Hader, show the convenience of upgrade options when your phone’s screen is cracked, or after it gets dropped in a urinal.
