Here’s the Internal Mayer/De Castro Memo on Yahoo Media Head Rosen’s Departure
Earlier today, I reported that Yahoo Media Network head Mickie Rosen was leaving the company.
Yahoo later confirmed the move and also filed regulatory documents, since Rosen is a high-ranking exec.
To round out the coverage, here is the actual memo that was sent out by Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer and COO Henrique De Castro on the subject. It has a lot of niceties all around, but the key line notes that “we will continue to invest in a model that spans the entire spectrum of content from premium to mid-tier and UGC — personalized for users and curated by our expert editorial team.”

We wanted to let you know that Mickie Rosen is leaving Yahoo!. Her last day in the office is Friday, July 26.
Under Mickie’s leadership, Yahoo! has enjoyed continued success across the homepage, news, finance, sports, entertainment, lifestyles, video and our other media properties globally. We’re now home to many of the best original video programs online, including the (just-EMMY-nominated!) hit, Burning Love. She helped Yahoo! aggressively expand our premium content partnerships with top brands like ABC News, CNBC, NBC Sports and many more. And most importantly, Mickie has built a great team of leaders, writers and creative talent who have brought Yahoo!’s content to a whole new level.
We are personally very appreciative for Mickie’s guidance and direction over the past year as we got up to speed on the media business. The work she has done to reposition Yahoo!’s media offerings sets us up very well for the future. Please join us in thanking Mickie for an incredible two and a half years at Yahoo! and wishing her all the best.
