Big Cellular Tower Operator Seeks Buyers

Global Tower Partners, the largest privately held operator of U.S. cell towers, is being shopped to its larger rivals, according to people familiar with the matter.

Global Tower owns, operates or leases 16,000 wireless sites, including some 6,400 cell towers in the U.S., Mexico and Costa Rica. The company, founded in 2002 by Chief Executive Marc Ganzi, could fetch more than $4 billion, according to industry observers.
