MakerBot’s Scanner Will Cost $1,400 and Ship in October

MakerBot today started preselling its next product, a 3-D scanner called the MakerBot Digitizer. Pairing it with a MakerBot 3-D printer, you’ll soon be able to duplicate physical objects for the low, low cost of $1,400 (Digitizer) plus $2,199 (Replicator), and some filament. MakerBot sold itself to Stratasys for more than $400 million earlier this summer.
