Google Chops Price of Nexus 4 by a Third, to $199
Google announced that it is cutting the price of the Nexus 4 phone it introduced last fall.
The phone, built by LG, is sold by Google unsubsidized in its Google Play store. With the cut, it now sells for $199, down from $299.
The move comes as both Samsung and Apple are gearing up for fall product launches, with Apple expected to introduce its new iPhone lineup on Sept. 10, and Samsung set to debut its Galaxy Note III at a Sept. 4 event in Berlin.
