Verizon Wireless Deal Could Happen Within a Week

Verizon Communications Inc. is in talks to pay as much as $130 billion for Vodafone Group PLC’s stake in their U.S. wireless venture in a deal that could be completed within a week, people familiar with the matter said.

The two companies had yet to agree on a price, the people said. But in a sign that the talks, which had cooled off in recent months, have reached a more serious level, one of the people said Verizon is in discussions with banks over about the tens of billions of dollars in loans it would need to complete the deal.
