After Big Fundraising, Uber Hires CFO From Google
Uber has grabbed Google VP, treasurer and chief accountant Brent Callinicos as its CFO.
Presumably, it’s to keep track of all the big funding of $258 million the San Francisco transportation logistics startup just got that values it at $3.5 billion.
Callinicos is joined by two other big hires: Emil Michael, formerly COO of Klout and, previously, SVP of field operations at TellMe Networks, is joining Uber as SVP of business; and Ed Baker, who previously ran international growth at Facebook and, prior to that, was co-founder and CEO of friend.ly, bought by Facebook in 2011. He will be the head of growth at Uber.
Much like Facebook did, it is certainly past time when Uber has to up the talent in its senior management ranks as it moves from the fast-growing startup mode to the we-really-have-to-execute time.
Here is a link to the blog post about it all from CEO Travis Kalanick.
