Stanford Grants $3.6M to StartX Accelerator
Stanford University, the educational institution most closely affiliated with technology startups, is making a direct investment in StartX, a nonprofit, four-year-old startup accelerator for Stanford affiliates. Stanford is also creating an uncapped fund to invest in companies that emerge from the program. Graduates from StartX include WifiSlam (bought by Apple for about $20 million for indoor location) and Clinkle (raised $25 million for mobile payments).
