Candygram: Yahoo Marketing Uses Jelly Beans as App Enticement
Sweet?
Yahoo has people handing out logoed packs of purple and white jelly beans in Times Square in New York, as part of a promotion of its apps. CEO Marissa Mayer has a liking for the location, having done other marketing stunts in the famous crossroads.
According to New York Times Web developer Scott Taylor, who posted the picture below on Instagram, “Yahoo is handing out jelly beans in Times Square and the girls say in a baby voice ‘download Yahoo! Weather.'”
Novel and perhaps tasty — mostly, I just liked Taylor’s photo (though I still don’t like the new Yahoo logo).
