You Google Yourself, and That’s Okay
And also, you can Google yourself.
Which lots of you do: 56 percent of Web users told Pew Researchers last spring that they “self-search.”
That’s down slightly from 2009, but up from 22 percent in 2001, when maybe people were preoccupied watching John Woo/Clive Owen BMW ads.
But if you feel at all embarrassed about your preoccupation with yourself, this may make you feel better: Self-searchers tend to be younger, better-educated and more affluent than the general population.
