Electronic Arts Reports Loss but Raises Outlook

Electronic Arts Inc. raised its profit expectations for the fiscal year, counting on a bounty from consumer enthusiasm for the launch of new videogame consoles.

The Redwood City, Calif., videogame maker on Tuesday reported its loss narrowed by 28 percent to $273 million in the quarter that ended Sept. 30, thanks to cost-cutting efforts and successful launches.
