AOL’s Susan Lyne on Trying to Make Bank With Online Content and More! (Video)

Susan-Lyne-AOL-380x259

Last week, I interviewed AOL Brand Group CEO Susan Lyne at Los Angeles’ Paley Center for Media.

In the job she took in March, after being a board member, Lyne is in charge of a range of products, from AOL Mail and its AIM service to its many content brands, including TechCrunch, Engadget, Patch, Moviefone and MapQuest. The longtime media exec has had stints at a variety of online and offline places, from the Gilt Groupe to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia to running Disney’s ABC entertainment unit, where she headed development of shows like “Desperate Housewives,” “Lost,” and “Grey’s Anatomy.” Before that, Lyne was a magazine editor, including launching Premiere.

In other words, she has seen a lot of media come and go.

That’s one of the things we talked about in this interview, which included everything from the Huffington Post to native advertising to what the heck is going on with Patch.
